Swarming Lounge is an app that creates a mixed-reality scenario by displaying virtual characters on your mobile device. The app uses your device's camera to create a mixed reality. To enter Stand Alone mode, tap the right icon, and to enter installation mode (only available at the exhibition site), tap the left icon. The app enables visitors to access the virtually augmented dimension of the "Swarming Lounge" installation, where they can display anthropomorphic characters evolving in a virtual scenario on their own mobile devices.

The installation is a participative, body-based, mixed-reality installation-performance that involves an interactive composition system where visitors and dancer/performers interact with virtual characters displayed on the audience's smartphones. Visitors can interact with the sequence of the scenario's events, designed in connection with the exhibition venue, where live dancer-performers are posted. The project is by kondition pluriel, with concept and artistic direction by Martin Kusch and Marie-Claude Poulin, choreography by Marie-Claude Poulin (assisted by Audrey Rochette), media environment by Martin Kusch and Johannes Hucek, installation design by the Institute for Cultural Policy, game-engine programming by Johannes Hucek, and 3D models by Georg Schmidhuber.

The installation was held at the Campina Milk Factory in Eindhoven, NL, as part of the Festival ROBOT LOVE from September 15 to December 2, 2018. Live performances were held on September 14-16 and November 15-17, 2018. The dancer/performers are Audrey Rochette and David Campbell, with the participation of local performers.
