Section 1:
Pl@ntNet is an application that allows users to identify plants by taking a photo with their smartphone. It is also a citizen science project, collecting and analyzing plants from around the world to better understand and preserve plant biodiversity. Pl@ntNet can identify a variety of wild plants, as well as some cultivated plants. The more visual information given, the more accurate the identification will be. Currently, Pl@ntNet can recognize about 20,000 species.

Section 2:
The new version of Pl@ntNet released in January 2019 includes many improvements and new features, such as the ability to filter recognized species by genus or family, differentiated data revision, re-identification of shared observations, multi-flora identification, selection of favorite floras, navigation at different taxonomic levels in image galleries, mapping of observations, and links to factsheets.

Section 3:
The web version of the application is available at identify.plantnet.org. Pl@ntNet is a great way to identify plants and contribute to the preservation of plant biodiversity.
